Peter Tietchen - Parents Joseph
Tiethen(sp) and Anna Velvet
Peter Tietchen, b. Sept 18, 1883, Bruckenau, arrived in New York
City circa 1907 from Hungary through Rotterdam. He stated that he served in the
Hungarian Infantry in 1905.
His parents names may have been: Joseph Tiethen(sp) and Anna Velvet. It is not
known whether Peter had siblings. Searching for any records on Peter - birth, christening, military -
anything that may be available.
------------------------------------------
The largest part of the Bruckenauer men and boys were assigned to the
Aglomerat-Fabrik, some to the blast furnace and course depot. The women and
girls had to work at the "Perestroika" (structure, line). In
Jenakijevo two Bruckenauer died and buried: Tittchen Mathias died in
April/May at the Ruhr and Brunner Franz in August 1945 at pneumonia. In
October 1945 typhoid fever broke out in the camp. Thank God, from Bruckenau
only one person got sick, Hehn Elis (geb. Schwarz). (use of a online
translator, excerpt from
Memories of the Deportation).
