Remembering Our Danube Swabian Ancestors

Pepper Seeds from the Homeland "Apatin"

by Larry Hussli, Edwardsville, IL

My grandfather Joseph Hussli, came to America in 1912.  He brought with him, his pepper seeds, which he apparently raised in Apatin.  He died before I was born, but, my father continued raising the peppers, until his death. Since that time, I have continued, along with other members of our family, in growing these wonderful peppers.  I've raised these peppers for over 35 years, I raised 500 plants last year....

Publisher note: Larry generously provided seeds to any DVHH-L subscriber, which turned out to be many!  We thank you Larry for your thoughtfulness and sharing your seeds from the homeland.
