of the Danube Swabians)

(National Meeting
of the Danube Swabians)
is usually
a smaller gathering, but it
does include dance, song,
etc. but not to win an
award; it’s for fun only.
The youth gets together only
for friendship without the
pressure of winning a
competition.
3) Landestrachtenfest
Tanzwettbewerb
(National costume festival)
Tanz
(Dance) wettbewerb
(competition): This
competition is every three
years for a prize
established for the Jugendgruppe (Youth Groups)
that best perform Schwowish
song, dance and spoken
word. Every participating
club is allowed 15 minutes
of song, dance, speaking in
German, poetry, and modeling
their Tracht (costumes).
Whoever has the most points
will win what is called the
“Awender Cultural Prize”
which is first place.
