Soviet Labor Camps (1945-1949)
One-sixth of the community (258 people) was deported to the Soviet Union "in distress and misery as mine workers behind barbed wire."   Of those, 37 died in the Soviet Union, and 3 more died shortly after returning home.  (Handl, 1985)
