Stefan Schicht
was born in Deutschbentschek in 1897. In 1927, he migrated to Canada
and eventually
Chicago, where he worked at the
Mars candy factory. He returned to
Deutschbentschek to live by the late 1930s.
Over the years, Stefan took many photographs, both in
America and in Deutschbentschek after his return
home. He generously shared copies with his
friends and relatives, in the later years sending
several of his Bentschek photos back to America.
