Village Photos

I visited Neubeschenowa, May 2004, taking many photos of around the town, of some the remaining Germans, of some old home places, of the cemetery and church.  You may find your family name among these.   The images are not in any special sequence and were cropped for maximum viewing within a web page [the actual images are much larger].  Feel free to copy the images for your personal use.  If you would like to use a picture on your website, please contact me first.  If you would like a copy of the original photo, email me Jody

Send me the link to your Neubeschenowa photos and I will post it.

Around back of the school is a playground where children were playing that day. A few feet, were outdoor bathroom stalls, that are "still" being used. There were no doors, no where to sit, if you can imagine.  I video taped t.   I was appalled at the horrible sanitary conditions. Amazing how 3rd world this village is, still today in 2004.

Old School Building (still in use) on right side, far end is the gym & in the middle is the Fire Department middle where the red doors are.

Horse and wagon are a means of transportation among villagers & to many a luxury.  See the storks nest on the top right.

The locals welcomed us.

Like everywhere in Banat, poppies were also Neubeschenowa

I spent a lot of time in and around the church.  A friendly German woman Ms. Lutz, helped us along the way, obtaining a key to enter the church.  The church inside and out is in very bad condition, as you can see.  The front and side yard area of the church is actually serene, but neglected.
