"The Whittier Music House, a valued addition to the business life of this city, will have its formal opening tomorrow. This store and studio, located on West Philadelphia street In the building formerly occupied by the Wardrobe Cleaning Establishment, will be owned and in charge of Niklas Shilzony, well known In Whittier, who has for five years so ably fulfilled the duties of bandmaster at the State School. Mr. Shilzony will carry a full line of all musical instruments with the exception of the piano, especial emphasis being given to band pieces. He has also at present a large collection of the popular ukulele. All Incidental merchandise for musical work will be in stock, such as strings, reeds, etc. This store will be a branch of the Southern California Music Company of Los Angeles, and the goods will be sold here at the same price as in the city, so it will no longer be necessary for you to go away from Whittier to fill your needs in this line. An additional feature of the Music House will be that one-half of the store will be a studio and Mr. Shilzony is very anxious to interest the young people of this city to the extent that more time will be given to music. Starting with the first of the week classes in band and string instruments will be formed and it is hoped that a large number of people will take the work. The army at the present time Is in need of buglers so perhaps you might show your patriotism by being able at least to bugle for your country."
