Sources:

1: Die Deutsche Kolonie in Bulgarien: On 17 of April 1893, seven German families from Denta, Schaag, Gjertyanos, Homolitz, Stamora and Berg reach Danube, Oryahovo and on 19 of April settled in Bardarski Geran. Their number later exceeded 95 families, who travelled down the Danube to the port of Orjechova in Bulgaria then overland 25 km to Bardarski Geran, arriving on the 19th. On arriving they were shocked to find only one two-room building. They would have to live in sod huts and for a time share these with their animals. Two days after their arrival snow started falling which lasted for three days (21st-23rd).
